Well, I'm going to succumb to a little BSP here. The Houston Writers League is presenting a Writer's Retreat
at the end of March from Friday, March 26 -- Sunday, March 28, 2004.
Here's an opporunity to "escape from the distraction of phones and
television, emails and family" and "get your writing juices flowing."
The retreat is being held on the campus of the Dominican Sisters
Motherhouse, "a peaceful setting to write or just get away." A
labyrinth, tai chi, even therapeutic massages will be available for all
attendees should they wish to take advantage of them. From Friday
evening to early Sunday afternoon, this promises to be a great weekend
get-away for a reasonable fee of $150 HWL members/$175 nonmembers.

Now for the BSP. HWL approached me last year and asked if I would
conduct a retreat for them, and I was delighted to say yes. For one
thing, I've heard great things about the Dominican Sister's Motherhouse
as a retreat center and had been wanting to go there; second, the
opportunity to direct a retreat where the writing and creative process
were uppermost in everyone's mind seemed to be an ideal way to begin
the year. I hope some of you think so, too, and will join me for a
relaxing weekend of writing.
